Decriminalilze All Drugs!
It is my opinion, what an individual does within the confines of their own personal existence is no ones business but theirs, so long as they are not presenting a danger to anyone but themselves. Individuals need to accept a lot more responsibility for their own existence and the consequences there in. Natural consequences are the best teachers there are. It is a far more important responsibility of those serving the public in government and of society in general to make education regarding the use, potential benefits & potential risks of such activities as drug use available to all individuals in a society. By decriminalizing such activity and eliminating $money$ from the equation we will also decrease if not eliminate the crime associated with it. Currently American jails are busting at the seams with individuals who did nothing more than get caught with marijuana.....most of whom committed no other acts that present a danger to society. Alcohol presents a far greater danger to society & individuals than cannabis ever could. And Americans are really missing out on a wonderfully versatile resource in Hemp!
For harder drugs such as cocaine, meth, heroine and prescription drugs, the problem is in the addictive properties of the drug itself. Cocaine for example, can be used quite safely in its natural form, a leaf, which is chewed. but refined into a powder and snorted it becomes addictive & dangerous. If a government truly cares about its citizenry, it does not criminalize such activities, it educates its people and provides them with safe, natural resources they can access. Education, moderation & responsible consumption are what is needed.! If I was president, that is how it would be. Period!
